(Charcoal drawing - Acrylic painting - Textures)
This Course is catered to those interested to learn how to paint with vibrant colors while using prominent brush stroke techniques such as Van Gogh, Monet, and Gauguin etc.
In this course you will learn how to express your ideas more than learning drawing techniques, techniques will be learned throughout practice. The aim is to be able to paint spontaneously without thinking, using brushes, different techniques of knife painting and paste and texture use. Students will copy from existing paintings, which will be used as a base for their drawings, and they will modify the composition and colors to create their own personalized drawings.
In creating their first three drawings, students will be left to express in their own style, afterwards they will be guided according to the style they chose.
No prior experience required.
Course Content
The course is composed of four different stages:
- Drawing the basic composition using charcoal
- Paint application using black plastic paint and water
- Color application using colored plastic paint
- Coloring with acrylic paint
Materials
Students will be required to bring:
- Canvas size 50cm x 70cm
- Charcoal
- Set of flat brushes (or pairs)
- Acrylic paint
- Miscellaneous materials will be requested by instructor before the class (knives, glue, plastic paste, sand, …etc.)
